Professional Standards

The Higher Education Academy (a body supporting quality enhancement in teaching and learning in Higher Education) has published a series of ascending standards of professionalism through areas of activity, core knowledge and professional values.  They suggest three levels

• level 1 for postgraduate teaching assistants and other new staff (supported by CEAD’s programme ‘Preparing to Teach’),
• level 2 is for staff who have a substantive role in learning and teaching (supported by CEAD’s programme PGCAP) and
• level 3 is for experienced staff who have an established track record and may be involved in mentoring and promoting colleagues.
