Options

Each of our masters programmes has a number of optional modules you can choose from to tailor your degree to your own interests.

Details on what optional modules are available can be found in the syllabus for each of our programmes.  Options are available in the Spring semester for all MSc programmes. Optional modules may run alongside compulsory modules for your programme.  You must decide which optional modules you wish to register for by the end of week two of the semester.  It is up to you to ensure that you have selected the correct modules (given the particular degree programme that you are registered on) and the correct number of modules. You should discuss your selected options with your personal tutor.

Highlights

We have tried to put together a number of exciting optional modules that reflect both cutting edge knowledge and industry focus.

Web Hacking Countermeasures

In this module, you can explore ways in which web hacking can be prevented.  Counter measures for attacks such as buffer overflows, SQL injection, denial of service and phishing will be explored.

Available on Internet Computing and Security Technology and Applications.

Project Management and Business Strategy

This module again shows our strong connections with industry.  Through a series of guest lectures from an industrial speaker, you will be introduced to high-level strategic decision-making.  This will be backed up by insights into the practicalities and challenges of running small and big projects.

Available on Internet Computing and Security Technology and Applications. Compulsory on Information Systems.
