PhD student success gains prizes

PhD student Ge Qin is celebrating this week after winning three prizes for his work. On Wednesday 11th June, Ge Qin took part in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences poster competition, and was awarded 1st prize for best poster. On Thursday, Ge Qin took part in the Department’s 6th Annual PhD Conference, where he won 1st prize for best presentation and 2nd prize for his poster.

The Department’s PhD conference celebrates the work of all of our PhD students through presentations and posters. As well as our PhD students, a number of the Department’s masters students also took part in the conference. The presentations and posters were judged by Alan Woodward, Executive Director of Charteris plc, who also gave the keynote talk, Ashley Collins, former chair of the Guildford BCS, and Dr Matthew Casey.

3rd Neil Newbold

For posters:
1st Zhao Xi
2nd Ge Qin
3rd David Williams
