Research student Athanasios Pavlou wins IJCNN bursary

Thursday 22 May 2008

Athanasios Pavlou, a research student in his third year studying for a PhD in neural networks for visual fear conditioning, has secured one of the few bursaries from the International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN) 2008 to present his work at the conference. Thanos is one of only three students studying in the UK who have been awarded a bursary.

IJCNN is one of the premier conferences in neural networks, with travel bursaries awarded competitively by the IEEE CIS and INNS. Thanos will be presenting his work with Dr Matthew Casey on Wednesday 4th June, titled " A Behavioral Model of Sensory Alignment in the Superficial and Deep Layers of the Superior Colliculus".
