Study
We offer undergraduate, postgraduate masters and postgraduate research programmes in computing, bringing together the best of computer science, business and leading-edge research to provide our graduates with one of the best employability rates in the country.
Why Computing at Surrey?
Surrey is referred to as 'the University for Jobs' by the Sunday Times and is highly rated in national league tables and by our own students in the National Student Survey.

Graduates from the Department of Computing consistently get top jobs in IT with the likes of 3M, Accenture, BT, Cable & Wireless, BERR (DTI), EDS, Electronic Arts, Exxon Mobil, IBM, J P Morgan, KPMG, Logica, Oracle, Royal and Sun Alliance and QinetiQ, a number of which feature in the Fortune 500.
We are constantly exploring the use of new technology in lectures, such as podcasts and voting handsets, to support greater interactivity, accessibility, and enjoyment of lectures. We also lead the way in industry led teaching. We were the first university in the UK to offer a module on mainframe computing delivered by the experts from IBM, while we also employ industry experts to teach about information asset management, and have a strong portfolio of guest lectures from the likes of Thomson Reuters, EDF Energy and Allianz.
