Surrey Clinical Research Centre is a purpose built facility bringing together everything needed to deliver full service clinical trial solutions. We are ideally situated adjacent to The Royal Surrey County Hospital and the University’s Postgraduate Medical School, which enables close collaborative working with our clinical colleagues and ensures the safe delivery of high quality trials. Furthermore, as we are integral to the University, we have direct access to leading academic experts.

Our facilities include:

• A 12 bedded ward with advanced medical monitoring equipment, including ECGs, electronic blood pressure monitors and Holter monitors.
• 12 individual sleep laboratories with static and mobile EEG monitoring, advanced sound attenuation, temperature control and isolation from all external time cues.
• A unique through-the-wall PK/PD sampling system allowing 24 hour sampling without disturbing sleep.
• Emergency Resuscitation Equipment including two defibrillators compliant with Resuscitation Council (UK) and European Resuscitation Council 2005 Guidelines.  
• Blood glucose monitoring: MiniMedContinuous Glucose Monitoring System gold.
• Secure, temperature-controlled pharmacy with restricted access and a Home Office licence for controlled drugs. A range of storage facilities for medication at room temperature, refrigeration and frozen IMP and pharmacy refrigerators suitable for vaccine storage.
• On site laboratories and storage for processing and analysis of immunology samples.
• Integration with the advanced University-based immunology, biomics and systems biology research resources.
• Close proximity and interworking with clinical services of local hospitals including those sharing the same campus
• Volunteer recreation areas. Facilities include wireless internet access, games and Sky television.
• Fully equipped psychometric suites for comprehensive cognitive testing, subjective assessments and physiological assessments such as postural stability.
• State of the art STISIM 400W driving simulator with full car body and manual transmission with scenarios to test urban and rural car driving.
