"The ESU Mace is a highly respected competition and a wonderful opportunity for pupils to develop skills of debate and argument, as well as to focus on issues of contemporary significance. The pupils always enjoy the event and members of the audience both learnt and laughed with the speaking teams: the atmosphere was purposeful, but with good humour all round. The judges gave useful feedback at the end of the evening. We were very grateful for Professor Barta's presence and comments."
