Sir Robert Tiffany Annual Nursing Lecture 2011
Tuesday 22 February 2011
In January this year Professor Sara Faithfull gave a talk at the prestigious Sir Robert Tiffany Annual Nursing Lecture, in collaboration with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
Prof Faithfull gave a talk on “After the cure – a tale of two perspectives”, focussing on the survivorship issues experienced by men with prostate cancer after they have been cured. This reflected symptoms as a result of therapy and potential adverse effects that manifest as skeletal and bone problems in later life. Prof Faithfull addressed what health care professionals and men need to do to improve after care.
This annual lecture was to commemorate the life and work of Sir Robert as an inspirational nurse leader. He developed the role of the clinical nurse specialist in oncology and was a lead UK nurse.
