Biography
Richard's specialist area is Employment Law, especially individual Employment Law and Discrimination Law. He has a particular interest in Age Discrimination in Employment. He teaches the Law of Tort, Employment Law and Discrimination Law on the LLB programmes, and Employment Law (including Discrimination Law) on the LLM in Employment Law by blended learning. He has taught and given guest lectures on Employment Law and Discrimination at several universities in the UK and overseas, an area in which he has also researched and published. He is the General Editor of the loose-leaf practitioners' work, Sweet & Maxwell's Employment Law Manual. His most recent publications are, Labour Law, 3rd edition, with Robert Upex and Stephen Hardy, published in 2009 by Oxford University Press and Questions and Answers on Employment Law (third edition 2008), with Malcolm Sargeant and Michael Jefferson, also published by Oxford University Press.
Richard is also in part-time practice in the field of Employment Law and has appeared in Employment Tribunals
