The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications Prize (two prizes awarded)

Awarded by the Institute to the best students in the final year Mathematical Studies examinations. Each prize consists of a one year free graduate membership of the Institute and a formal prize certificate.

A prize awarded by the publishers Pearson Education of books to the value of £50 awarded to the student with the best performance at Level 1 on the Mathematical Studies degree programmes

The Chapman & Hall/CRC Prize

A prize awarded by the publishers Chapman & Hall/CRC consisting of books to the value of £100 from their current catalogue awarded to the student on the BSc Mathematics and Statistics degree programme with the best performance at level 3.

The Insightful Statistics Project Prize

A prize awarded by the software company Insightful Corp. consisting of a book awarded to the student on a Mathematical Studies degree programme with the best statistical final year project

The Departmental First Year Prizes

A prize of the book "Mathematics from the birth of numbers" and £50 awarded to the two students with the next best performance at Level 1 on the Mathematical Studies degree programmes.

The Departmental Second Year Prizes

A prize of £100 awarded to the two students with the best performance at Level 2 on the Mathematical Studies degree programmes.

 The Ron Shail Prize

A prize in recognition of the long and distinguished contributions of Professor Ron Shail to the Department consisting of £150 awarded to the student with the best performance on the BSc Mathematics degree programme at level 3.
Winner: Jonathan George R Jowett

The Departmental MMath Prize

A prize of £150 awarded to the student with the best final year performance on the MMath degree programmes.
