Where?
University of Surrey
Open to:
Staff, Students, Public

The workshop intends to showcase recent developments in the evolution of interfacial structures in various media, including elastic crystals, fluids, and granular materials. One of the aims of the workshop is to bring together experimentalists and theoreticians working in this area, and to take advantage of recent advances in numerical techniques applied to large-scale realistic models.

Topics:

  • Magnetized systems
  • Transition paths
  • Elasticity theory
  • Coherent structures in experiments with ferrofluids

Speakers include:

  • Aaron N K Yip (Purdue)
  • Bernd Schmidt (Munich)
  • Reinhard Richter (Bayreuth)
  • Graeme Henkelman (Texas, Austin)
  • Christoph Melcher (Aachen)
  • Mark Peletier (TU, Eindhoven)
  • Juan Luis Velazquez (UCM)
  • Nicolas Dirr (Bath)
  • Elaine Crooks (Swansea)

We have space for contributed talks and a poster presentation. If you would like to give a talk or present a poster, please email Kelly-Marie Garner.
