University of Surrey's prostate cancer diagnostic urine test

The University of Surrey is pleased to announce the discovery of a biomarker, Engrailed-2 (EN2), that is considered to be a major discovery in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.

There has been considerable media and public interest and we are doing our best to respond to all enquiries as quickly as possible with accurate information.  For further information please see the press release.

The University is doing all it can to get the test into public use as soon as possible.  To this end we are in discussions with a number of leading companies who are keen to help us progress the research.  It is clear that whilst the application of this test will provide a more accurate means to identify prostate cancer it may still be some months and perhaps years before it is widely available.
