Accommodation

All our first-year students are guaranteed University accommodation if they apply in time.  We pride ourselves on offering comfortable, secure and well-equipped facilities.  We ensure our rents are reasonably priced and offer a range of prices to suit any budget.

Over half our rooms have en suite shower and toilet facilities and all our accommodation has the fixtures, fittings and appliances to make it comfortable.  There’s also free broadband and an optional direct dial telephone service so that your son or daughter can stay in touch with family and friends back home.

The first phase of student and staff residences at our new Manor Park campus consisting of 1,500 high quality bedrooms is now complete. This will eventually grow into an environmentally friendly, residential village of 2,200 bedrooms together with a new reception building with cafe, bar and lounge areas.

If your son or daughter has a question regarding their accommodation we would advise them to check the Resident's Guide. This guide is available online and a hard copy is issued to each student taking up University accommodation with their keys.

We run a peer mentoring service in our residences which provides every new student with the opportunity to receive a regular visit from a trained supporter who has experienced all the inevitable challenges of settling-in for themselves.

There’s a range of facilities on campus including a launderette, bank and cashpoint facilities, post office and a well-stocked grocery store.  There’s also a popular weekly fruit and vegetable market held in the Students’ Union and a good choice of on-campus food outlets and eateries.  The new Library and Learning Resource Centre also houses a bookstore, pharmacy and a learning café.

Accommodation Services also provides advice to students who are looking to rent or who are currently living in private rented accommodation.  This includes a contract checking service.  Each February, Accommodation Services, the Student Union and Student Advice run a Housing Awareness Week to provide information for those students who will be renting their own accommodation for the following academic year.
