MSc Studentships

Listed below are the provisional MSc Studentships for September 2012 entry:

Radiation and Environmental Protection MSc: The Department offers Departmental studentships of £1000 per annum for both Home/EU and Overseas students. These are offered to students who are not in receipt of external funding. The student must have either a 2:1 or 1st class first degree (or overseas equivalent – at the discretion of the Course Director). External funding means, for example, fees and stipend paid for a student by their government. There may also be some scholarships offered by industry. Their availability is not confirmed at the time of writing. These would be for selected Home/EU students only. They are subject to interview and selection by Industrial Sponsors. To see they have been confirmed, and for further details, please contact the Course Director.

Radiation Detection and Instrumentation MSc: The Department offers Departmental studentships of £1000 per annum for both Home/EU and Overseas students. These are offered to students who are not in receipt of external funding. The student must have either a 2:1 or a 1st class first degree (or overseas equivalent – at the discretion of the Course Director). External funding means, for example, fees and stipend paid for a student by their government. We also expect to be able to offer SEPnet studentships. These will be for Home/EU students only. These pay 100% of the tuition fees plus a £9000 stipend. SEPnet studentships are competitively awarded to the UK/EU students with the highest first degree performance. Further information is available from the Course Director. At the time of writing these are not yet confirmed, please contact the Course Director for updated information. There also some scholarships offered by industry. These are £1000 to £3000, and are available for selected Home/EU students only. These Industry scholarships are subject to interview and selection by Industrial Sponsors. Application and further information from the Course Director.

Medical Physics MSc: The Department offers Departmental studentships of £1000 per annum for both Home/EU and Overseas students. These are offered to students who are not in receipt of external funding. The student must have either a 2:1 or 1st class first degree (or overseas equivalent – at the discretion of the Course Director). External funding means, for example, fees and stipend paid for a student by their government, the NHS etc.

Euromasters MSc: SEPnet, through the Department, offers studentships for Home/EU students. These pay 100% of the tuition fees for the two years of the MSc. They do not pay a stipend. SEPnet studentships are competitively awarded to the UK/EU students with the highest first degree performance. Further information is available from the Course Director. SEPnet studentships are only available to UK and EU students. This year there may also be some scholarships offered by industry. These are £1000 to £3000, and are available for selected Home/EU students only. These Industry scholarships are subject to interview and selection by Industrial Sponsors.
