Dr Roberta Guerrina on BBCR4 Woman's Hour

Monday 21 November 2011

Dr Roberta Guerrina appeared on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour on Wednesday 23rd November, discussing life for women in Italy after Berlusconi.

Italy is slowly getting used to the departure of its controversial prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi? His administration has been dogged by sex scandals and criticism of his attitude to women. Under his leadership opponents say the image and standing of women has been reduced to little more than sexual objects. But how will women fare in the new political environment, and can they repair the damage done by Berlusconi’s sexist political system? Jenni discusses these issues with Annalisa Piras, London correspondent for L’Espresso - Italy’s leading news magazine, and with Dr Roberta Guerrina, Senior Lecturer in Politics at the University of Surrey
