Turkey's military intervention in Cyprus in July 1974 from a Neoclassical perspective
This dissertation aims to explore the motives behind Turkey's military intervention from both unit-level and systemic level. Furthermore, this dissertation will apply theoretical paradigms from variants of realism and constructivism to empirical facts of above stated military intervention. I argue that neoclassical realism best explains the motives behind this intervention. The main reason for such an assertation, is its usefulness as an adequate tool to evaluate the issue from unit-level and systemic level.
