Project title: The use of Survey Design and Implementation in Teaching Political Psycholgy and Electoral Behavior
Project Description: A ‘regular’ Political Psychology and Electoral Behaviour seminar becomes a hands-on, research oriented experience, incorporating real-world use of survey questionnaire design, the development of attitude measures, and the analysis of data and report writing. The course integrates the theoretical and empirical components of the curriculum. Each meeting revolves around a specific empirical problem and students build on the knowledge they gain every week and experience active learning in hands-on workshops. Students also develop and administer a survey, and then analyze the collected data. By using real-world situations, the course extends the professional training that students currently receive in our Department. Read more

Project title: New models of negotiation through role-playing
Project Description: The best way to learn about negotiation is to negotiate. In this module, students take on the real-world positions of different groups (for example, Middle Eastern states for a peace conference, or political parties for a constitutional conference), which they then research, before engaging with each other, in a three-day session. This helps them not only to understand the complexities of the situation, but also gets them to think about how they interact with others and the factors that matter in reaching agreements.
