English Language Programmes
The Department of Languages and Translation Studies has been preparing international students for degree-level study in English for more than 25 years. We offer courses throughout the year including during the summer.
If you take one or more of our courses you will improve your English language skills and increase your confidence in your own ability. This will enhance your chances of academic and professional success.
You will be able to:
- Develop your academic writing and research skills
- Practise your discussion and presentation techniques
- Develop your listening and note-taking strategies
- Improve your grammar and vocabulary
- Learn about current UK study methods
- Participate in exam preparation sessions including IELTS
- Engage in critical thinking and independent learning
- Learn about University life at Surrey and become familiar with all learning facilities
