Course Details
IPT is a manualised brief therapy which has an extensive evidence base with working age adults, older people and adolescents.
The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends IPT for the treatment of depression and eating disorders and, under the patient choice agenda, there is pressure to provide it as an alternative treatment to CBT. Registration as an independent practitioner with IPT-UK is achieved after attendance at an Introductory Course and the successful completion of 4 cases; the course aims to train those applicants who apply for the supervision option to independent practitioner level.
