Surrey International Institute
The DUFE-Surrey International Institute (SII) is an academic partnership institution between Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) in Dalian, China, and the University of Surrey in Guildford, Surrey, UK.
Surrey International Institute was established in 2006, based on more than four years' academic cooperation between the DUFE and Surrey. This institution synergizes the recognised strengths of two highly respected universities from China and the UK, and offers education for academic qualification at and above Bachelor level. Our students have the opportunity to obtain two degrees from both DUFE and Surrey at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, in the professional fields of Management and Computing. During the programme, students have the option of completing the whole programme within China or going to the UK for part of the programme. The institution prides itself on its high profile of the teaching staff team, which includes teaching staff from Surrey, local teaching staff from DUFE and other international scholars and teaching staff.
SII offers a unique combination of high academic standards, employment success and a prime location in beautiful surroundings in Dalian. It aims to offer international study programmes exploiting the expertise of the two universities to offer top quality programmes in China with students having the option to take part of their study in the UK. These programmes will be offered to both Chinese and international students, including students based at Surrey to undertake part of their study in China.
SII strives to equip graduates with academic excellence, professional qualities and life skills to bring the graduates at the top of the employability scale. SII is committed to providing programmes which encompass the development of vocationally relevant skills and enables key areas such as project management, analysis and communication to be strengthened, in line with the demands of today's employers. It is planned to offer the professional training year experience to the SII students in the future.
